Genii Earth partnered with the regional construction leadership team of a global technology company to address a convergence of people and performance challenges during one of the most demanding data center build programs in the industry. Facing explosive workforce growth, high turnover, leadership gaps, and cross-functional friction across six geographies, the team needed more than technical solutions — they needed alignment. The Challenge

A global technology company’s regional construction team was responsible for one of the most complex programs in its portfolio — spanning multiple campuses, leased facilities, and concurrent project phases — while under intense organizational and industry pressure to deliver data center capacity at record speed.

The team encountered a convergence of high-risk challenges at once: labor scaled from roughly 900 to nearly 5,000 workers in just six months; critical management roles remained unfilled during peak execution; turnover of 60–70% disrupted continuity and trust; and construction, facilities operations, and executive leadership were frequently in friction with one another. Despite strong technical expertise across the team, shared purpose and role clarity were absent. The result was a team that struggled to sustain cohesion, alignment, and leadership effectiveness under extreme pressure.

The engagement included in-depth leadership interviews and diagnostic assessments, individual executive coaching and Leadership Circle Profile assessments, facilitated team workshops and leadership summits, on-site integration work at critical project locations, and sustained support to embed leadership practices into daily operations.


The Results

The engagement produced measurable outcomes across both leadership effectiveness and project delivery. Targets were met throughout a 450% workforce expansion and reorganization, with deliverables consistently secured while scaling from 900 to 5,000 craft workers. Stakeholders were realigned around shared understanding of purpose, priorities, and responsibilities. Cross-functional performance improved across facilities and executive stakeholder groups, and 90% of participants reported gaining the essential knowledge and skills to excel in their roles and on their projects through the engagement.

Beyond performance metrics, the investment in people paid back directly in staff retention — a meaningful result in one of the industry’s highest-turnover environments. Trust deepened, dialogue became clearer, and cross-site collaboration improved across all six geographies.
