Genii Earth collaborates with Community Solutions and Aspen Global Innovators Group in a series of life-changing conversations

Genii Earth is honored to be partnering with Community Solutions, a 2021 recipient of the MacArthur Foundation’s 100&Change award, as they work to help communities measurably and equitably solve homelessness.

When it comes to homelessness, there is no shortage of brilliant thinking, money and compassionate effort being applied to ending it. And yet, it persists. In the Making Homelessness Solvable project, we are engaging change leaders and narrative shapers from inside and outside the homelessness response world in a series of conversations designed to shift homelessness from a seemingly intractable problem to an issue people see as one we can and must solve.

With the support of event co-sponsors, including the Aspen Global Innovators Group, we will be challenging and inspiring participants to ask questions like:

  • What is missing, that if it were present, would ensure the thinking, money and effort results in any experience of homelessness being rare, brief, and non-recurring?
  • If homelessness wasn’t viewed as a problem, what would it be and what would we be doing differently?
  • What is needed to bring what is missing into existence at a pace and scale commensurate with the needs of our unhoused neighbors and suffering communities?

It’s never been more crucial for people to come together and make sense of the world through conversation, especially as we address the Earth-sized challenges we are confronted with today. Without intention and skilled support, however, too many conversations today tread old pathways, devolve into polarized thinking, break down before breaking through, or succumb to the distracted attention patterns of our time.

Genii Conversations are those in which participants come together around a shared concern or possibility, bring their curiosity and their wisdom, and discover together a way forward that no one participant could have found alone. They are designed to take everyone to the edges of what is already known, evoke collective genius, and generate collaborative action.

If we and our partners succeed, these are conversations that will change the way we think about and respond to homelessness.  By giving people access to new actions these conversations will improve the health and well-being of both individuals and communities.

We look forward to sharing updates on this exciting collaboration on homelessness as it unfolds.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear what the conversations are in your work world that could help you break through to a new level of life-enhancing performance and contribution.

If you enjoyed this, would you share it with someone important to you?
